Extended hiatus

KGML has been “down” for several months now. Its league members were each notified of the league’s unexpected downtime. While it was announced that the league would forever close its doors, I believe there is a chance of reformation down the road…perhaps sometime over the summer.

Reformation would require a lot of new owners, and this will be the most difficult part. It’s hard to say if OOTP8 is the best choice, too, because OOTPX is now out, and this is said to be a better game. My own familiarity of OOTP8, and a couple of people who already purchased OOTP8 with KGML in mind, could be just enough to keep me using it.

Whatever does happen, it will be the current league file that will remain in use.

Just in case you didn’t notice the forum post about this, here is our upcoming sim schedule:

Oct. 2 – May sim #2
Oct. 5 – May sim #3
Oct. 7 – May sim #4
Oct. 9 – June sim #1

Opening Day next Thursday, Sep. 11th

Opening Day has been confirmed for next Thursday.

Please submit roster moves and lineups by Wednesday 9 PM pacific time to confirm they will be input for the first sim.

After a lot of hard work, we are approaching Opening Day for KGML’s inaugural season!

Please browse your team reports and submit all your roster and lineup moves asap.

Opening Day has been tentatively scheduled for Thursday, September 11th. I am fairly certain we will hit our target and sim that day!

1977

1977 is our starting point in history. We will begin with OOTP8’s 1977 rosters, financials, and strategy modifiers.

There are 900 players in the entry draft, and they can be found on the League Reports Page under Rookie Draft Pool. The initial draft will 10 individual drafts for each position. Use the Players by Position links on the right to navigate each position, and use a search function on the alphabetical rookie pool to cross-reference player pages.

Welcome to the KGML!

The Kirk Gibson Memorial League will be an online sim-league consisting of 24 teams based on Out of the Park 8.

All teams will be based in pre-determined cities, in both traditional, and non-traditional, MLB cities. These cities can be viewd on the ‘Teams’ link to the right.

New members will be allowed to select from these cities on a first-come, first-serve basis. The teams will be named by the incoming ownership groups, and then the fun will begin!
